Depoe Bay Cardigan is a figure flattering ¾ sleeve cardigan that you can toss on for a casual sweater or wear it as an elegant layer to dress up your outfit. Wear it open or belt it for a sassy look.
The sweater is worked seamlessly from bottom-up in one piece, joined at the shoulders, then sleeve stitches are picked up at the armhole and worked in the round. The outside band is also picked up and worked in the round.
Depoe Bay is known as the world’s smallest harbor but it is far from a sleepy little harbor or town. The outside band on the sweater represents the treacherous bar and surf that the fishing boats must cross going in and out of the harbor. The mouth of the harbor is so narrow that there’s a bridge above it from which you can watch the ships position for a safe run into the harbor.
