Danse des Dragée
(Sugar Plum Dance) Cowl
Every year at holiday time, I make it a point to watch The Nutcracker. The parade of sweets is my favorite part, culminating in the La Danse de la Fée- Dragée (Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy). Dragée (sugar plums) are a hard-shelled sweet filled with spices, nuts, or seeds, often used for celebrations. Their round shapes can be found dancing up and down this cowl.
This cowl in three sizes is worked bottom-up in the round beginning with a contrast i-cord or provisional cast-on. Cables can be worked with or without cable needles. An i-cord bind-off finished the piece.
Skills required: basic stitches, cables, i-cord or crocheted provisional cast on and bind off.
