Let all your facets sparkle with this beautiful, deceptively simple cowl! It is quick to knit and delightful to wear - the double-thick fabric is wonderfully warm and plush, and it’s the perfect size to keep you cozy without getting in your way or needing to fuss with styling it.
You don’t need to know any special techniques beyond knitting in the round and basic lace stitches (and this pattern is a suitable first lace project for an adventurous beginner who has done knitting in the round). The layers are created one at a time and using only one color at a time, so the knitting itself is straightforward and fast. The contrasting layers allow both yarns to show off without overwhelming each other, and are perfect for highlighting a gorgeous hand-dyed color. If choosing your own colors, you will want one light and one dark color, and at least one of them should be either solid or semisolid (to get the effect seen in the sample, the light yarn should be solid or semisolid and the dark yarn should be multicolored).
