My first year of marriage, I joined my husband (Scandinavian/Dutch heritage) for his family’s Christmas. They woke me up in the morning to open stockings. This was a tradition I’d never experienced. They each grabbed their stockings and pulled out small gifts, candy, and, lastly, the prized orange that filled the toe. I wanted to create my own oversized stocking with a simple motif and the idea that the bigger the stocking, the more candy and gifts I could fit in them for my kids and family. This is a quick, fun knit that is sure to bring some joy on Christmas morning.
