Comfort and Cuddle
This pattern was designed for Comfort and Cuddle Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that distributes small hand knit and crocheted items (called “Comforts”) to children in need of some extra love and kindness. For more information about Comfort and Cuddle Inc., or if you would like to donate a Comfort, please visit our website at https://comfortandcuddle.org.
Sometimes, we need a little comfort. When life gets hard, it’s nice to have a simple project that knits up quickly and doesn’t cause stress or require much concentration. When someone you care about is going through a difficult time, you can knit them this blanket as a physical representation of your love and kindness.
I designed this blanket while my eleven-year-old son was inpatient at a children’s psychiatric hospital because of his depression. No visitors were allowed because of COVID, and I wanted to send him something that had a mother’s unconditional love in every stitch.
