The “CLAUDIA” hat - fun with nature

This simple striped cap is knit in the round in stockinette stitch. An i-cord on the top forms the stem. The perky flower and ladybugs are knit separately and sewn on.

THE BASICS

• Pattern includes 6 sizes: Newborn / 3-6 months / 6-12 months / Toddler / Child / Adult

• Pattern is written in ENGLISH and uses standard U.S. knitting terms

• Instructions are for knitting in the round on circular and double pointed needles

• Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm)

• Approx. 30 to 60 yds (27 to 55 m) DK or light-worsted weight yarn in EACH of 3 colors for hat

• Approx. 10 yds (9 m) sport weight yarn for flower

• Approx. 7 yds (6 m) fingering weight yarn for ladybugs

• U.S. size 6 (4 mm) 12” or 16” circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge

• U.S. size 6 (4 mm) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge

• U.S. size 2 (2.75 mm) straight needles

• U.S. size 3 (3.25 mm) straight needles

• Stitch marker

• Yarn needle
