Christmas Tree Santa's Buttons
Santa’s Buttons Christmas Tree is a unique tabletop tree decorated with a collection of crocheted buttons. Too cute!! The tree is worked in three separate panels, each from the bottom up. The panels are joined at the sides, and then sewn to a felt base. The result is a tree in the shape of a tetrahedron also known as a triangular pyramid.
VARIATIONS
There are MANY variations you can do with this design. Listed below are a few. I’d love to hear what additional variations you make!
• Make a 10” tree. See page 6 in pattern for instructions.
• Adjust the size of the tree by using thicker or thinner yarn. Use a hook that will yield a tight stitch so the stuffing does not show through.
• Work the tree double-stranded with a hook suitable for your yarn. Keep one strand the same color and vary the color of the second strand for an instantly decorated tree. Great way to use up some scrap yarn!
• Make your buttons in a variety of colors.
• Make each side of the tree a different color and decorate with buttons made in the other two colors.
