This cardigan is worked in one piece from the bottom to the armholes, then the fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulders. The sleeves are worked flat from the bottom up, then sewn in. The openings for the optional pockets are placed while working the body, then the pocket linings are worked before blocking.

The cable pattern is presented in both written and charted formats.

Skills Used: Cable knitting, increasing and decreasing, picking up stitches
Optional Techniques: Kitchener Stitch, 3-Needle Bind-Off, for the pockets: knitting in the round

Sizes: XX-Small (X-Small, Small, Medium) (Large, 1X, 2X) (3X, 4X, 5X, 6X)

Finished Measurements: 30 (35.25, 37.75, 42.5) (45.5, 49.75, 53) (57, 64.25, 66.5, 71.5)“ bust, with fronts overlapped; intended to be worn with approximately 6” ease

Materials: Bulky weight acrylic/wool blend: 1055 (1170, 1255, 1380) (1470, 1600, 1705) (1840, 2035, 2115, 2290) yards (MC).
Fingering weight wool blend: 200 yards (CC), for pocket linings (optional).

Needles and Notions: Size 10 (6 mm) 32” long or longer circular needle, OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE; sizes 3 (3.25 mm) and 1 (2.25 mm) double-pointed needles and smooth chunky weight waste yarn for pockets (optional); stitch holder or waste yarn, stitch marker, cable needle

Gauges: In Garter Rib, 17 sts and 22 rows = 4”/10 cm using MC and larger needle, blocked. Note: To work a gauge swatch, work Garter Rib with 5 sts in Rev St st on either side of Garter Rib; measure across the center 17 sts to check gauge.

16-st Cable Panel measures 2.75”/7 cm wide using MC and larger needle, blocked.

In Stockinette stitch, 39 sts and 48 rows = 4”/10 cm using CC and smaller dpns, blocked.

Note: Because of the large pattern repeat and the heavy gauge, the stitch patterns may not match exactly at the shoulder seams for some of the sizes.
