Inspired by the fun we have as a family decorating for Christmas each year and enjoying tasty decorated gingerbread with hot chocolate afterwards, I created a garland with fun characters and other Christmas symbols that you can look forward to meeting again each year and even personalise to resemble your own family.
You can choose whether to make one of each ornament or more and whether to present them as a pretty fireplace, shelf or staircase garland or keep them as individual ornaments for your tree. There’s also a knitted version of each piece available as a separate pattern.
Sizes: Make the ornaments to fit your own home and in your preferred weight of yarn, so your sizing will reflect this. Sizes and yardage in the pattern are for DK yarn.
Tension: 16 sts x 20 rows = 10cm/4” measured over dc.
Working method: Most ornaments are crocheted flat, back and forth with paired side incs and decs for shaping. An edging is added for a smooth, firm, non-curling finish.
