There is no place I would rather be than in the water & catching a wave. 🌊 Surfing - no don’t be silly, I’m much too clumsy for that.

I’m talking about standing in the water as you feel a slow rocking, the pressure of the waves slowly pulling you closer to shore, then pushing you back out as you hear them crest over and crash back into the ocean. Watching their white caps cresting over and plunging back into the sparkling water as they move you about. Feeling the earth’s pull reminds me of the bigger things in life.

A simple and elegant design that comes from the concept of negative spaces created by the use of mohair and short row sections. This element captures the air and light between texture and produces a soft flowing design that lets light through. Relaxing stockinette sections help provide a simple backdrop for highlighting and creating drama.

The construction of this shawl starts from the tip, increasing at the beginning of each right-side row, and has a built-in garter I-Cord edge, resulting in an asymmetrical triangle. Designed to feature four growing Short Row Wave sections separated by calm, relaxing stockinette knitting.

Main Color (MC): Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)
April 2021 - 350 yards
Coordinating Color (CC): Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino/20% silk, 400yards/100grams)
Pure - 380 yards

Mohair: Emma’s Yarn Marvelous Mohair (72% Kid mohair/ 28% Silk, 459yards/50grams)
Freedive – 230 yards

Needles: US 4/3.5mm 32” circular needles and size 6/4mm for bind off

Notions: Stitch Marker, T-pins and blocking wires for blocking

Gauge: 22 stitches = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch after blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.

Finished Size: asymmetrical triangle - 62” x 50” x 37”
