Carta di Riso (Rice Paper in italian) is worked sideways in a highly textured, reversible stitch pattern that combines rib, garter and seed stitches, flowing loosely along the piece.
The stitch looks much more complicated than it is, as it doesn’t imply any cabling, and is perfectly identical on both sides.
Changing the number of stitch repeats you can easily obtain different sizes: a cowl, an infinity scarf or even a stole.
That’s why yardage can vary so much (400-850 yds).
A little tutorial on grafting - maybe the most challenging part of the pattern is included in the pattern.
