For toy food, or as seasonal decorations, knit up a bunch of carrots for the Easter bunny or Santa’s reindeer.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the carrot is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round), and the stalks are i-cord tubes worked on two DPNs.

NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 4).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; less than 25g in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle and a handful of toy filling.

SIZES
One size only - 15cm long (including the leaves).

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and a little seaming to finish.
