Caprice No. 24
This pattern is also available as a part of the e-book “Variations on a Theme”.
Caprice No. 24 in A minor is the final caprice of Niccolò Paganini’s 24 Caprices, and a famous work for solo violin.
“Caprice No.24” is a beautiful textured shawl with a delicate edge. This shawl would make a great accessory for any time of the year. The shawl is seamless and knitted bottom-up. The shawl is a very quick knit and would be a great project for a beginner as well as experienced knitter.
Finished Size:
The sample shawl in the photographs after blocking measures 149 cm (59 inches) for the straight edge on the top of the shawl and 67 cm (26 inches) for the height of the shawl at the center. You can easily make it bigger or smaller.
Gauge:
The gauge is not critical in knitting this shawl. Adjust your needle size to suite your yarn and achieve the size and the look of the shawl of your choice.
Yarn: ColourMart Cashmere 4/14NM DK Weight (100% Cashmere, 8ply).
1 skein = 570 yards (521 m) of colorway “Mallow”
The yarn can be substituted for a sport weight or fingering weight yarn.
Needles:
US 5 – 3.75 mm circular needles.
Pattern is charted only and includes Slipped Stitch lace photo tutorial.
Thank you to all my wonderful test knitters for helping out with this pattern:
