My design ambitions have recently turned practical in an attempt to fill holes in my personal wardrobe. Living in Canberra (Australia), I find the Winters unbearably cold here and wanted to create a scarf I could loop around my neck to beat the chill. Naturally, this Winter wardrobe staple is named after the environment that inspired its very design.

This extra long scarf was created in a loop to be worn two ways; doubled over long loops or wrapped around the collar like a cowl. It is worked in one long piece and then joined at the seam. For best results, use Kitchener stitch to graft the ends together and make an invisible seam. You will need to cast on using the provisional cast on method if choosing this method. I used the full 3 skeins to complete my loop, but this could be altered to create a smaller version and reduce the bulk of the scarf.

The yarn is a perfect choice; super soft and toasty warm.
