Cabled Helix Socks
This is a fun top-down cabled sock pattern. It is good for adventurous beginners and advanced knitters who are familiar with sock construction and knitting in the round. The cables include crossing over purl stitches so this would be a fun pattern to play with that skill for something new! There is something happening in most rows and there aren’t really any rest rows - there are cables every four rows and the “resting” rows have both knit and purl stitches.
The pattern only includes charts!!
Materials:
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn (100 grams)
Needles and Notions:
- 2.25mm (US size 1) circular needle or size necessary to achieve gauge. The pattern is written for magic loop but easily adjusted for dpns
- Cable needle (if desired and you do not do cables without a cable needle)
- Tapestry (darning) needle
- Stitch markers (if desired)
Gauge:
8 stitches and 11 rows per inch knit in stockinette in the round
NOTE The cables and ribbing pull in so you may want to go up a needle size if you are a tight knitter.
Sizes:
Extra Small (66 stitches), small (70 stitches), medium (74 stitches) and large (78 stitches)
