Cabled Cardigan Sash
One of my sweet clients reached out to me through my EyeLoveKnots Etsy Shop asking if she sent me a cardigan (and some buttons) if I could replace the ones on it, and make a sash to match. I told her to send it to me, and I would do my best.
After I received it, I knew the buttons would be a cinch, but the sash made me think. I could see the cardigan was knit, and it made me think, how would a crocheted version look against that? Also, I knew I wanted a lightweight yarn, but could I match the color?
The closest color I could find locally was Patons Kroy Socks in Muslin. I made a small sample in my chosen pattern with the Muslin yarn, put it up against the cardigan, and sent the picture for approval, and it was loved!
Materials:
- 215 Yards of Sock Yarn - I used a little more than two skeins of Patons Kroy Socks in the Muslin Cream colorway
- G6/4mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends
Time Spent:
Just over two hours, 45 minutes.
Measurements:
1.13” Wide by 83.25” Long
This is plenty long designed for a Women’s size Medium. For reference, I am a Women’s size Medium with 32” waist/42” hips, and I had plenty of room to spare on the ties, so I would say it would also comfortably fit a size Large, and maybe even a size Extra Large, though it’s so easy to customize!
Abbreviations:
HDC - Half Double Crochet
Cr4F - Cabled Of 4 Stitches but Worked Over 5 Stitches (Explained)
FPDC - Front Post Double Crochet
BPDC - Back Post Double Crochet
