Booklet of Crochet Character Hats
The Whatever! is a quick-to-work hat and an ideal scraps buster.
This 22 page pattern booklet contains full instructions for the hat base and 11 pages of character parts to make any of the hats shown (and potentially hundreds more).
The base is worked from the crown, in one piece, with no seaming.
Optional ties and earflap instructions are included.
The hat can be worked in a number of sizes from preemie to large adult, in head circumferences ranging from 25-61cm (10” - 24”).
Add a combination of character parts and you can create a truly original, novelty gift or photo prop. Stuck for ideas - what about a monster, a frog, an alien, a robot, a bear, a parrot, a ghost?
Let your imagination run wild! If the creative juices are escaping you, the gallery includes examples of what can be made with a rundown of parts used.
Character parts can also be used to decorate your own items - hat, scarf, pillow, jumper etc.
You will need up to 300m DK, Aran or WW yarn in various colours, a hook appropriate for chosen yarn - stitches should be tight not loose, a needle for neatening ends and 4 stitch markers. Some character parts require a very small amount of stuffing.
Oddments of yarn in different thickness and texture can be used for effect.
This pattern is written in UK terms with a table of US equivalents provided as applicable.
