Blanket Throw
A few days after a fabulous crochet workshop, teaching a class of wonderful ladies ‘how to crochet’ a granny square, I got on a plane to Canada with a ball of yarn and a crochet hook. Here’s the result, a Canadian Crochet Blanket which travelled 3000 miles overland as work in progress, through Ontario from Toronto to London, Windsor, Point Pelee, Leamington, Kitchener, Lighthouse Cove, Niagara Falls, back to Toronto and finally on another plane, back to the UK.
Thank you Canada on behalf of me and my Canadian Crochet Blanket Throw for an amazing once in a life time adventure ♥
Here is the pattern for this very easy Crochet Blanket Throw. Using 7 colours of any brand of DK, worsted weight yarn, this fabulous square blanket can be made to any size. The pattern suggests 200 grams of yarn in each colour.
100 grams, approx 280 metres, of each colour will make a square blanket measuring approx 100cm x 100cm, (39.5in x 39.5in) A great size for a baby blanket.
200 grams, approx 560 metres, of each colour will make a full sized throw. It’s a great pattern for using up lots of spare yarn from the stash and a perfect first crochet pattern.
