The shawl is created with alternating sections of garter stitch in the contrasting color (Penumbra) with sections of the Daisy Stitch in main color (Vermillion). At the bottom of the shawl is a Daisy Chain Border in the main color (Vermillion).

Bellis is the scientific name for daisy. This shawl was designed in honor of my grandmother, Frances, who helped me learn to knit when I was in high school. She was a very accomplished knitter and artist who loved daisies.
