A fingering weight winter toque with a folded up brim for extra warmth on the ears. Features a cute little X pattern all over!

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Head circumference (approx): 47 (52, 57) cm/ 18½ (20½, 22½) inches
Depth (approx): 23 - 25.5 cm/ 9- 10 inches, folded; 33 cm/ 13 inches, unfolded

MATERIALS
Yarn:
1 skein of Tough Love Sock by Sweet Georgia (80% merino wool, 20% nylon, 389 meters/ 425 yards - 115 g) in colour Magician.
Needles:
2.75 mm/ US 2, 40 cm/ 16 inch circular needle for cast on and ribbing
3.25 mm/ US 3, 40 cm/ 16 inch circular needle double pointed needles for main pattern.
Notions:
Stitch marker, cable needle (optional: see notes), tapestry needle.

GAUGE
30 sts and 38 rows = 10 cm/ 4 inches over main pattern using larger needles, after blocking.

NOTES
This pattern can be worked by following either the chart or written instructions. You also have the option of working the LT (left twist) and RT (right twist) pattern with a cable needle or without one. Instructions are given for both methods, but I find the WITHOUT method much faster!
