Basket of Seoul
Our trip to South Korea in late 2019 was filled with wonder and discovery. Wonder at the beauty we saw and discovery because we met my daughter’s birth family. She has a sister and brother who are amazing people. Her sister’s boyfriend’s family made us feel like a part of their family. We dressed in colorful hanboks one day, had amazing meals of Korean Barbecue and Chimaek and found that our family grew to include relatives from the other side of the world.
As for knitting, we searched the huge markets everywhere in our travels for yarns and inspiration. So many beautiful colors and geometrics were found in doors, windows, temples and walls. Repetitive patterns in bright colors abound. They were the inspiration for this hat. Worked in Cascade 220, any worsted that meets gauge will work in this slouchy cap.
