This is a pattern that has designs with in designs. Building from the outside in, there is the outer border in garter stitch, inner border of stockinette, then a diamond design inside the 2 border areas, and finally a center design section. The center design is a star burst design. However, if you choose, you could simply fill in this section with all stockinette.

Using markers through out and realizing there is much repeating of stitches, makes this a fairly easy pattern to work.

It has become one of my favorite designs.
