Seriously, who doesn’t love Baby Groot??
There’s no way the Cardigans of the Galaxy pattern series would be complete without one dedicated to cutest baby arboreal ever, so this pattern is a unisex, kid-size version of the grownup I Am Groot Cardigan for your favorite little sprout.

Worked seamlessly in DK yarn from top down, Baby Groot features the same tree-like cable panel (both charted and written out) as the adult version on the back, and smaller cables along the v-neck front that mimic the look of branches. This version has raglan sleeves that are initially worked along with the bodice, and then completed by working in the round once the bodice is done.

Patch pockets (worked separately and sewed on) complete the cozy look. The sizing is for kids, so there is no waist shaping, and just a bit of hip shaping. The larger sizes (25-29”) are intended to have proportionally more length than sizes 19-21”, but can be easily shortened if the wearer prefers a high hip-length. Check the schematic for measurements.

I AM GROOT!….roughly translated as “Welcome to the frickin’ Cardigans of the Galaxy,” and he didn’t say frickin’. :P
