Knit these popular illusion blocks in mosaic garter stitch! Just one strand of color works every two rows while the other strand rests at the edge. Simple repeats allow you to customize the size.

The sample blanket used less than 7 skeins of Lace Merino Chunky (from 4 skeins of the main color and 3 skeins of contrasting color). Choose colors that contrast well. Try your camera’s “black & white” setting to look at your yarns in grayscale and check the contrast between your selection(s).
