A dress with short sleeves and rainbow stripes worked from the top down.
I have used an amazing technique developed by Susie Myers, contiguous set-in sleeves, that allows shoulder shaping and creating sleeves without using short rows.
Skill Level: advanced beginner

Chest: 23, 25, 27, 28.5, 30, 32 inches
YARN:
Liberty Wool (100% washable wool; 50 gram ball = approx 122 yards).
Main Color #7810, Dark Navy.
Contrast Color 1 # 7819, Orchid Pink.
Contrast Color 2 # 7857, Bright Blue.
Contrast Color 3 # 7894, Jade.
Contrast Color 4 # 7885, Tangerine.
Contrast Color 5 # 7850, Gold.
Contrast Color 6 # 7805, Magenta
MC: 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins
CC: 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1) skeins of each contrast color.
NEEDLES:
One pair or circular needles (12”) in size US 6 (4.0 mm) or size to obtain gauge.
One pair or circular needles (16”) in size US 6 (4.0 mm) or size to obtain gauge.
One pair or circular needles (12”) in size US 7 (4.5 mm) or size to obtain gauge.
Two pairs or circular needles (24”) in size US 7 (4.5 mm) or size to obtain gauge.
OTHER MATERIALS
3 Stitch markers (2 color A and 1 color B)
2 Lengths of waste yarn or stitch holders
Darning needle
Sewing needle
GAUGE: 20 sts and 26 rows = 4” in stockinette st on US 7 (4.5 mm needles). Take time to save
time by checking your gauge.
