Quick and fun fingerless mitts to show off your favourite speckled or highly variegated yarn: long enough to keep your wrists warm but short enough to complete both within a weekend. While keeping the palm easy with simple stockinette stitch, on the back of the hand you have a beautiful wavy stitch pattern that keeps knitting interesting and the ribbing on the sides makes for a great fit for hands of different sizes. This pattern is designed to create a nice set of mitts together with a matching hat from just one speckled skein of sock-/fingering-yarn. A solid colour-version would also have a beautiful texture.

The mitts are knitted bottom-up and in the round, with an afterthought thumb using some scrap yarn. You will use twisted-rib, stockinette, a written-out stitch pattern and some short-row shaping. Due to the different stitches on the inside and outside the mitts are not reversible.

The Mitts fit a circumference of 18–21 cm measured around the hand, excluding thumb.
Gauge for 5 cm: in stocking stitch 13 sts x 18.5 rows; in twisted rib 16 sts x 16 rows

Ein Strang bunter Sockenwolle reicht für diese Handwärmer und eine passende Mütze. Sie sind an einem Wochenende gestrickt und trotzdem lang genug um dich warmzuhalten. Auf der Oberseite haben sie ein tolles Fangmuster, das dein gesprenkeltes Garn zur Geltung bringt, auf der Innenseite sind sie mit glatt rechts einfach gehalten. Dank dem durchlaufenden Rippenmuster an beiden Seiten haben sie eine gute Passform für kleinere und größere Hände. In einer einfarbigen Variante kommt die Textur des Musters mehr zur Geltung.

Die Handwärmer sind von unten nach oben in Runden gestrickt, mit einem nachträglich angestrickten Daumen. Verwendete Techniken: verschränktes Rippenmuster, ausgeschriebenes Fangmuster und ein paar verkürzte Reihen für eine optimale Passform.
