The quirky canal houses of Amsterdam inspired this asymmetrical shawl. Colors with high contrast will show off the slipped stitch pattern reminiscent of the canal houses and the watery ruffled edge.

This shawl can be knit in either two or three colors and makes great use of a pair of yarns or stash yarn. If you are knitting the two-color version, CC1 and CC2 will be considered the same color. Not a fan of ruffled edges? You can also finish this with a simple garter edge with or without beads.

Finished Size: approximately 84” wide x 17” deep (213 x 43 cm) after blocking.

• Fingering weight yarn: Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock or Baah! La Jolla (700 yds, 640 m)
As shown: MC purple (400 yds, 365 m), CC1 orange (100 yds, 92 m), CC2 aqua (200 yds, 183 m)
• US Size 5 (3.75 mm) 40” (101 cm) or longer circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge)
• Tapestry needle
• Optional: approx. 40 6/0 beads if choosing the no ruffle edge with beading option

Gauge: 21 sts = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st before blocking, 17 sts = 4” (10 cm) after blocking

Note: This shawl may be worked with different weight yarns. If you change the yarn weight, choose a needle size that gives you the drape you desire in the fabric. Exact gauge is not critical, but yardage requirements will change based on yarn weight and gauge.
