Aglow
Everything in my Ravelry store is 25% off till end of September 12, 2023 (EST). The 25% discount will be applied automatically at checkout without any code.
The offer includes e-books as well (e.g. Aglow belongs to the Knit Light e-book, Underwater Garden to the Inner Gardens e-book, get either the patterns or the e-book). The Photography Shawl pattern is also 25% off!
While knitting the shawl you will follow the growth of lilies of the valley from underground towards the sky. The knitting starts with just a few stitches and soon you “plant” bulbs that give life to the blooms. You may add some beads when knitting flowers to glitter as dew drops. After you knit enough of plants, the Sun starts rising and sets the lilies of the valley aglow.
The shawl is a slightly asymmetric triangle worked sideways in one piece. The pattern is designed for one skein of fingering or lace weight yarn to get petite or regular sizes and can be easily customised.
For information about sizes, measurements and yarn requirements please check the second page of the pattern located among the photos on the left.
Aglow is the first pattern from the Knit Light e-book.
Also see the matching Aglow Mittens.
Correction: Stitch count on Row 7 of Chart D should be 50 instead of 49.
The stitch pattern used in the body of the shawl is based on the Lily of the Valley stitch pattern by Herbert Niebling. Of course, as the rest of the shawl, it is fully written out and shown in modern charts.
