Advent Scarf 2018
I have finally finished with the 2018 scarf. The entire pattern is huge, so I have split it into two pdfs. One pdf is written directions and the legends and the second pdf is the charts plus the legends. Thanks for your patience.
Welcome to my Advent Scarf for this year, affectionately known as Addy Vent. The theme is Japanese Stitches. The scarf will be approximately 8 inches wide and 72 inches long, plenty of length to be good and cozy. I am using West Yorkshire Spinners Illustrious 245 yards/225m/100grams, which is a blend of Falkland wool and alpaca. It is classed as a DK weight yarn. As always you can use, whatever yarn you choose, just be mindful of differences in length and width with different yarns. A tonal or solid yarn is going to show off the stitch patterns the best. I’m knitting this on a 4mm/6US. The pattern is charted and has written out rows. You will need 3 balls of Illustrious or about 735 yards.
The pattern page has the usual information and the pdf will have the cast on directions for the ribbing, which is 13 rows of knitting.
Chat about this scarf can be found in the Sock Madness Forever and/or Mountain Knits & Pearls
Enjoy!
