Accent fingerless mitts
I have knit this pattern but it has not been tested by other people yet. If you have any questions or comments on the pattern, please let me know.
These mitts are a fun way to use up scraps of fingering-weight yarn in related colours, or show off gradient minis. You need 4 colours in a gradient, either light-to-dark or one colour to another, plus a 5th contrasting colour for the accent. There are some suggestions for colour combinations included with the graph if you need inspiration, but play around with leftovers in your stash for ideas too. You need 15g or less of each colour. I have suggested a few yarns with a wide colour range available, but I know there are lots of other possibilities out there.
You will need fingering weight/sock yarn, approximate quantities:
MC1 (darkest): 6.5g (30 yds)
MC2 (med-dark): 11g (50 yds)
MC3(medium): 11g (50 yds)
MC4 (lightest): 5.5g (25 yds)
CC (accent): 15g (70 yds)
You may reverse the gradient and use the lightest shade as MC1 if you wish.
Finished dimensions of mitt are 7” around knuckles, 4.5” hand length, 7” total length. This fits a small/med women’s hand. For a slightly larger mitt, go up a needle size.
Pattern has some written instructions but is primarily graphed.
