Pick your 5 favourite colours and choose from baby blanket, adult blanket or cosy wrap for this fun make.

The inspiration for this design was my son’s girlfriend. I wanted to make her a cosy lap blanket or shawl that she could lay across her lap or wrap around her shoulders whilst on the sofa relaxing. I picked all the colours I saw her wear, guessing them to be her favourites, and finished the wrap with unicorn fringing. Because who doesn’t like unicorns.

The design is worked with Vs and Popcorn stitches, with instructions for both and photos for the popcorn stitch.

The pattern uses Paintbox Yarns in Simply Aran, 5 balls for the wrap and baby blanket, and 15 balls for the adult blanket. This is worsted weight yarn in the US but you can also use other weight yarns.

Yarn: Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran 100g
1 3 x 100g ball in each colour A Pale lilac, B Banana cream, C Peach orange, D Vanilla cream, E Seafoam blue
Hook: 5.5mm

Tension/Gauge : 6 “V” stitches to 10cm and 10 rows to 13cm measured over patt with 5.5cm hook.
