Tanja Steinbach is a well-respected knitting designer, she was till 2017 key member of the Schachenmayr design team, since 2017, she has been working in the creative team of Lana Grossa. She resides in Frankfurt a Main, Germany.

As a child, Tanja was taught to crochet by her great-aunt, and began her design career creating clothes for her dolls. Soon after, using her mother’s sewing machine, she began to sew her own clothing. This interest in fashion knitting and design began to blossom and shape her young life.

While still in her teens, and long before she began proper study in design, Tanja had assembled an extensive collection of fashion inspiration. Her tailoring skills led to trainee opportunities and freelance fashion experience with publishers including the Paris Fashion Agency for the Burda publishing house.
