Louise Zass-Bangham
My name is Louise Zass-Bangham. I love to design things that explore colour and texture, but most importantly they must be enjoyable to knit!
Following a degree in textile design and time working in marketing, I went to Central St. Martins as a postgraduate in pattern cutting (pattern making for US readers). The tutors dropped me straight in at the deep end with some of London’s top catwalk designers, leading fashion brands and stylists. Environmental concerns led me out of that world, and I wrote about sustainable design for a while. Having kids gave me the chance to get back to hand knitting and I loved designing my own pieces while they were young and I was at home.
Once the kids were a bit older, I went back to uni and became a paramedic, and that’s my full time job now. Quite a change, I know! I’m still knitting, and loving the relaxation it creates, but I’ve paused on creating new designs. Hope you find something here that you’d love to make!
