Rhinebeck skirt
Here are the basic instructions. I modified the pattern. Instead of the closure you can make a regular elastic waistband. If you still want the buttons, work the yoke back and forth instead working in a round.
Find your guage first. Lets say, it’s 9 st per inch. Now multiply it by your hip measurement. Let’s say it’s 40”. Now chain 360 (9x40) and work in dc in a round for a desired length of yoke plus 1” (mine is 4”). Later you will fold that 1”, saw it to the back side of the yoke and let the elastic band through it.
When the yoke is done the next row work as this: 2dc in every dc of the previous row. Basically, doubling the amount of stitches (720 all together).
All the other rows worked as 1dc, ch1 on top of dc.
Work till the desired length.
Mine is about 20”.
For the very last row sc in each stitch.
For the bottom few rows I let a tiny silk ribbon through the filet to give the skirt a little extra.
Hope it helps.
Please ask any questions, I will be glad to answer.
